Glamour of 1940’s style Hollywood visited Dallas on the night of the Diamond Gala. Although ourfair city is not lacking in glamorous events, the third annual Diamond Gala benefiting Evergreen Life Services was certainly a chic affair to remember. For one night, on April 30th, the spectacular 6500 Cedar Springs venue transformed into a vision of old Hollywood, accompanied by the authentic music of the Hunter Sullivan Band. Exquisite gowns and refined tailored black-tie ensembles filled the room aplenty. The table settings dressed in black, white and gold fluttered with enormous arrangements of white ostrich feathers and glittered with candle-light.
The event, undoubtedly glamorous, was a serious venture that generated awareness and understanding of the issues of those living with disabilities. Evergreen Life Services is a human services organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing them with basic needs and teaching life skills to help each individual reach his or her own personal potential.
Diamond Gala recognized the biggest supporters of Evergreen Life Services, and raised funds for its programs, including HEAVENDROPt, an innovative social enterprise that is geared to expand Evergreen’s mission. This enterprise is providing people with disabilities, wounded warriors, and potentially their family members, with specific but transferable job training and employment opportunities.
The event was emceed by Former Good Morning Texas host and co-host of The Rodney Anderson Show, Amy Vanderoef alongside multi EMMY Award-winning Scott Murray. Dr. Leyla Nourian and Dr. John T. Botts served as Chairs of The Diamond Gala.
The evening program included the appearance of Celebrity Host David DeSanctis, Special Guest Speaker Kevin Harrington and address by Dr. John C. Goodman
