Trunk Show and Luncheon with Rachel Comey at Stanley Korshak

Understanding of fashion is a lot more than mere knowledge of latest trends and names of popular designers. If you really think about it, you realize that fashion is a very personal, even an intimate experience for most of us. What makes us buy one thing vs. another? Mostly, we select clothes that make us feel good and look good, that represent who we are. Clothes we choose speak for us, even if we don’t say a word. No one understands it better than Stanley Korshak. Behind a simple phrase “customer service” lays the depth of understanding of the retailer’s clientele, their tastes, needs and aesthetics.

To say that is not enough. Emotional connections and personal relationships are built through time and careful nurturing. The right selection of products is only a small part of this equation. That’s why Stanley Korshak invites designers they represent to visit the store and meet with customers, who either already favor the brand, or lean towards the brand’s aesthetic. On Thursday, September 29th, I was fortunate to attend a special luncheon at Stanley Korshak, hosted by Tiffany Davros from Street Style Squad in honor of Rachel Comey – a well-known New York based designer, who has flown to Dallas specifically for the event.

A select group of guests, including Crawford Brock, Heather Anderson, Sue Wade, Tamie Burnett, Elaine Raffel, Kirsten Dolbec, Meredith Casey, Alicia Wood, Jhonatan Arreola, Paige Slates, Sonya Woods, Taisa Skulsky, Anita Hawkins and Karen Moore were able to meet with the designer in a casual, relaxed atmosphere over an exquisite three-course lunch, accompanied by wine and champagne. They could shop the collection, ask questions and simply explore the beautiful surroundings. The selection of Rachel Comey’s Fall-Winter Line included beautifully constructed dresses and jumpsuits, and a variety of silk items with artistic and whimsical cowgirl patterns, so wonderfully suited for fashionable dallasites.

The beautifully set-up table played up the colors of the collection in variations of soft rainbow hues. It felt like a meeting of friends, or a warm family gathering, with Crawford Brock personally greeting the designer and the distinguished guests. I couldn’t help but feel the incredible draw the store “family” created to make everyone feel welcome and cared for.

If you ever have a need, a wish, or even a whim – all you have to do is come to Stanley Korshak. They will surely find that special something to warm your heart.
