Best kept “secret” of Dallas social events, Tablescapes by Candlelight has been drawing crowds of refined guests since 1995. The evening of exceptional beauty, it combines exquisite taste, glamorous designs and charitable giving in the magnificent setting of the Dallas Country Club. Organized by the Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma, this unique two-day event benefits a variety of Dallas community non-profit organizations specifically selected by the Association.
On Monday, October 17th and Tuesday, October 18th, hundreds of attendees had a chance to experience and admire the work of the most accomplished florists and designers of the city. Stanley Korshak, Dr. Delphinium, Carolyn Tillery, 5 by 7 Designs, Central Market, and many others showcased their creations and wowed attendees by their creativity. Explosions of color, cascading waves of petals, brushstrokes of nature have been combined into masterpieces of table design. From Avant Garde to Renaissance, from Minimalist to Baroque – the presentation answered every flight of fancy.
Since the event inevitably sells out, this year the organizers have expanded the schedule to include several viewings: an early Sneak Peak on Monday afternoon, a Private Patron Reception, Tablescapes by Candlelight cocktail reception, and the final Tablescapes Luncheon on October 18th. The “secret” of the Tablescapes is spilling out, and more and more people want to partake of the incredible feast – the feast for the eyes and stomachs.
I have been a part of this event for three years, and I look forward to its continuous success in the future. Since the inception, The Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma has given back over $2.6 million to over 78 beneficiaries in our community. With style and grace, the ladies of Kappa Kappa Gamma are strengthening the bonds between members, neighborhoods and communities – a remarkable achievement, indeed.
