Women X Power Event Hosted by Esé Azénabor

If there’s one trend I’m thrilled to follow, it’s the collaboration of women. From the worldwide women’s marches to female only wellness retreats, more and more women are coming together to support, not compete, making female rivalry so last season.

One designer who’s the essence of female collaboration is Esé Azénabor who showcased her 8th collection at the sold-out Women X Power event benefitting My Refuge House, a non-profit that supports and empowers girls rescued from human trafficking in the Philippines.

Over 250 guests surrounded the runway to watch 30 local female CEO’s, business leaders, influencers, philanthropists, & socialites in all shapes and sizes model Esé’s latest collection. Drawing inspiration from these successful women in her designs, Esé Azénabor stunned guests with her signature plunging necklines, intricate 3D beadwork, & strong lines.

Guests were also treated to the debut of Esé’s breathtaking bridal collection where the finale gown closed the show like a fairytale ending. The stunning, hand-beaded, fitted silhouette was adorned with intricate hand-beaded sheer sleeves and embellished with beaded tulle. Rumor has it, this gown required such exquisite craftsmanship, it took the designer a total of nine months to create.

Whether it was Esé’s designs, the girl-power aura or the vodka, I couldn’t help but notice a confident, strong alter-ego surface within each of these women walking the runway. But then it hit me. Regardless of the beautiful gowns, flawless hair & impeccable make-up, these women in all shapes and sizes were being celebrated by other women. So maybe we’re missing something? Maybe the secret to confidence isn’t about how we look; it’s about feeling the support and love from other women along the way.
