Swarovski celebrated the 15th anniversary of its partnership with Victoria’s Secret Iconic runway spectacle in Shanghai. Since 2003 the crystal maison has been adding sparkle and glamour to the legendary lingerie brand.
This year for the Swarovski Look, the focus was on the Nomadic Adventure as Swedish model Elsa Hosk was chosen to wear the lavish crystal showpiece -with fiery hues – red, yellow, gold, orange-designed by Paris-based couturier Serkan Cura. The breathtaking custom look was embellished with over 275,000 crystals from Swarovski, the wings weigh 14lbs and were made using 200 yards of woven ribbon and pave crystals, finished off with a crystallized wing harness and hand-beaded jewelry.
“It’s all about sparkle, shine and fantasy and that is what Swarovski brings to the show” said Victoria’s Secret EVP of Brand Communications and Events, Monica Mitro. “Especially this year’s look, it’s a completely over-the-top wing and Elsa just brings it to life.”
Over 1 millions crystals from Swarovski were used for the Winter’s Tale look worn by Karlie Kloss, and Elsa Hosk’s crystallized “Punk Angel” designed by Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing. In addition to the Swarovski Look, costumes blitzed with thousands of Swarovski crystals were featured throughout the entire show.
