OSCAR DE LA RENTA: FIVE DECADES OF STYLE

Discover “Oscar de la Renta: Five Decades of Style,” a major retrospective of American fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta. The collection explores his outstanding career from its origins to his most recent runway and red carpet masterpieces.

Designer, Oscar de la Renta needs no introduction. His name is synonymous with glamour, romance, femininity, and the utmost sophistication when it comes to fashion. Naturally, Oscar de la Renta has dressed some the world’s most influential women, including First Ladies, royalty, and of course Hollywood’s most renowned actresses.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to examine, through Oscar de la Renta’s designs, the unique role of the First Lady as our country’s official hostess to world leaders and diplomats, and as a trendsetter in style, fashion, and entertaining. Daywear and evening dresses worn by Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Reagan are on display, as well as garments worn by members of First Families, including Jenna Bush’s wedding

dress.

The “Oscar de la Renta: Five Decades of Style” exhibition was divided into five different themes: Expressive Spanish Influence, The Craftsmanship of Couture, Cultural Aesthetic from Around the Globe, The Glamour of the Red Carpet, and Inspired by the Garden; each of them proving you with an intimate look at Oscar de la Renta’s fascinating fashion world and his many subjects.

If you happen to love one of Oscar’s dazzling creations from the exhibit, there will be no need for you to travel to his atelier in New York City. As Dallas based vintage boutique, Vintage Martini has a few of these amazing treasures awaiting for you at their new location; 2923 N. Henderson Ave, near downtown Dallas.
