Beyond Closet by Taeyong Ko presents the latest capsule collection during New York Fashion Week: Men’s, sponsored by Korean Preview in New York (KPNY). The collection consists of 12 signature looks and is aimed for Fall 2016 release. Titled “Bromance”, the presentation’s concept came from a boy’s night out in Seoul.
The looks consist of multiple loose layers in toned-down palette geared towards men and women in their twenties and thirties. They are comfortable, yet memorable. It is a mix of practical, sophisticated and distinguished pieces. Many elements feature graphic patterns inspired by the neon lights hung in Taeyong Ko’s favorite bar. The collection mirrors the designer’s personal experiences with friends, as well as the city youth culture in general.
Beyond Closet capsule collection is created to highlight the quality and variety of textiles produced in South Korea and to celebrate KPNY’s 20 th Anniversary. The Korean Preview in NY show is taking place at the Metropolitan Pavilion on July 13th and 14th , and will feature seventy of the most innovative fabric manufacturers from this country.
“Korean textiles are excellent quality that can compete with both mass Chinese fabrics and high-end European textiles. I especially like the eco-conscious and technical materials, tailored to consumer demands. I am thrilled to celebrate KPNY’s 20th anniversary and that it gave me the opportunity to present my capsule collection made out of excellent Korean textiles during Men’s New York Fashion Week,” says Taeyong Ko.
