Francesca Liberatore‘s SS17 collection is a mixture of bright fuchsias, vibrant mandarin, exuberant turquoise and dancing violets, it is an explosion of colors and experimental concoctions. “Drink” it and you may wake up a changed person.
Liberatore says: ” I believe in Love and True Freedom – the freedom to change. As a woman and human being, I choose to celebrate [these excitements] in these times and I hope you will join me.” The designer wants you to feel free, the balloons are angels who are carrying you up high into the Sky.
Liberatore graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2007 and had worked for Viktor & Rolf, Jean Paul Gaultier and Brioni. In 2009, Liberatore stepped out on her own, created her label and won the prestigious Next Generation competition in Italy. Her work has been installed in the Museo della Permanente in Milan and the Edieuropa Gallery in Rome. In 2014, DHL and IMG selected Liberatore as the winner of “DHL Exported Award”, she was invited to show in New York for two seasons in partnership with IMG.
