From muted color palettes ranging from white to black with pops of pale pink, yellow, wisteria, and fiery rouge. All set against an airy, easy-to-wear silhouette that barely skims the body. As for fabrications, you asked? Lighter-than-air, sheer fabrics give the wearer a sense of freedom. Today’s collections are seductively intriguing and diverse as New York itself.

Just like a breath of fresh air, the Creatures of the Wind spring-summer 2014 collection breathe with ease and wearability. A muted color story composed of powder pink to pale blue with shots of glimmering silver and gold lame. The ready-to-wear offerings went from boxy jackets to camp shirts with deconstructed flower embroideries, and tuxedo trousers to circle and pencil skirts. While, ultra feminine dresses were cinched at the waist with flared skirts. Overall, the collection felt highly wearable, and streamlined.

There’s a hazy 90′s energy running through Helmut Lang‘s latest collection…Perhaps, it’s the austerely sexy women they depicted for spring-summer 2014. The offerings included sharply cut blazers paired with slouchy trousers or skirts. Nicole and Michael Colovos were able to transformed Wade Guyton’s graphic canvases into minimalist dresses with clean, linear prints, which were finished in sheer fabrications. Today’s collection exudes a modernist attitude, while maintaining a cool sex appeal.

As the models came out, they quickly took there placed behind a clear encasement set, which served as a shield from the elements. Sugary pastels to acid bright were set against a body conscious silhouette. Roses were also part of Prabal Gurung’s inspiration, printed onto a PVC skirt or embroidered in crystals onto the bodice of a dress. David Neville and Marcus Wainwright adhered to their superb English tailoring skills and continued to experiment with technical materials.
