I’m a firm believer that fashion is always about moving forward, and never looking backwards. But lately I have been thinking about fashion in a different way – fashion is always about moving forward, while learning from the past. And this season’s Resort 2016 collections are the epitome of this new fashion mantra – a clash between the past and the future – made for the present.
I think it’s safe to say we are living in a world where everything has become very homogenized – everyone wants to wear the same thing, eat the same thing, and do the same things everyone else is doing. Whatever happened to been an original – I’ve always said it’s better to standout than to blend in. Luckily - for Resort 2016, designers
from all of over the world seem to be sharing one thing – Individuality! Fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Gucci, J.W. Anderson, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, MSGM, and Valentino – all had a confidant and strong point of view for Resort 2016.
There are no trends here, which are a wonderful thing, if you asked me! Designers are staying very much within their own vocabulary – is really about expressing who they really are as designers and flaunting the style they enjoy – without further ado; here are ten new and noteworthy collections.
